GCI was my first professional Graphic Design job. Working with a team of designers, we did everything from design graphics from the ground up, verifying and adjusting customer supplied artwork to prepare it for print, and working with customers to help them find the best design, material, and marketing tools they needed.
GCI is primarily a whole sale business-to-business manufacturer, and we work with many well known companies. From the World Racing Group, the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and innumerable sign shops and production companies around the country and the world. We make everything from vinyl banner, mesh, billboards, yard signs, metal signage, product displays, vehicle wraps, vinyl applications and wall graphics, trophies, PVC signage and displays, and much much more!
I’ve worn many hats while working here, from graphic designer, web designer, video editor, customer relations, production hand, and more. The experience I have gathered here is more than the sum of designs an images I can compile here.
GCI makes LOTS of trophies, primarily for the World Racing Group and lots of various Racing associations. I primarily helped put these all together after each piece was printing and machined.
An Ozzy Osbourne tribute Herse we made window perf applications for shortly after he passed away. This was a treat to work on
My coworker and I collaborated heavily to create a design we thought fitting for the prince of darkness. The customer in the end decided to only have the applications in the windows and not on the body, so we had to rework our design heavily to fit within the customer's request.
In the end, I think the slick black Cadillac hearse with the pop of the black and white graphics in the windows really worked in the design's favor and led to something classy and impactful.
A guide I made for our installer to ensure each separate piece was placed in the correct spot.
A mockup of a vinyl wall graphic application for Anderson Automatic Heating & Cooling. This one was a big job from getting info from the customer, measurements from our Installer who took a site survey, and receiving feedback from the customer.
While at GCI, I was approached by our newly appointed marketing head to help him build and design our online ordering website. This was a HUGE undertaking that involved me learning a brand new software, Aleyant Pressero, which is build specifically for print businesses to create websites for customers to order customer print projects on. I built every asset on this site from the ground up utilizing our existing brand guide and with feedback from marketing, the larger design team, and the owners.
Here are a collection of assets I created for the online store. We took a day to take pictures of all of our products with different finishing options to create the “Finishing Options” images. The owner wanted edited images showing mock-ups with “Your Art Here!” boldly stated.
